Apron from Martha in Mexico

Martha Molina sent me an apron from Mexico. It is made from an oil cloth that is used for table cloths. I’m standing beside the old cook stove that came with the homestead. Although we really like it, it is not airtight and has a very small wood box. We will soon be replacing it with an airtight cookstove that we will be able to bake in. It will also have a huge fire-box that will take large pieces of wood and hold a fire all night.

Standing with me is Cuca and Señor Poco.

The floor shows where we tried to pull up the old linoleum. After realizing what a difficult (if not impossible) and smelly job it would be (having to heat/burn the linoleum to pull it up), we have given up on removing it. Instead, we have decided to put a new floor down, using 2nds of maple flooring.

Under the apron, I’m wearing the new denim dress I bought with Joy at the Salvation Army a couple days ago. (on sale for 99¢ 😉
